Radio star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has made a surprising property admission after recently selling a Woollahra mansion for $13m and buying a new Clovelly home for a similar amount.

The KIIS FM co-host spoke on Stellar’s Something To Talk About podcast about her career, among other things, revealing she missed the “chase” that came with launching a career, including being a first-home buyer.

“Sometimes I think … I wish I was just back in my 20s and trying to buy my first apartment,” she said.

“Isn’t that weird? It’s only a thought I had a couple of weeks ago … I don’t know. I keep asking myself why I’m thinking that way.”

Jackie O bought a new home in Clovelly this year.

Henderson earlier this year settled on her former Woollahra home, with paperwork revealing she pocketed $13m.

The sale dates back to an off market deal in mid-January, with David and Dalia Schnabl emerging as the buyers.

Macquarie Bank holds the first mortgage, with the Schnabl couple securing a second mortgage on the property from her mother, Jennifer Wohl, the Point Piper-based wife of aged-care boss Peter Wohl.

Henderson bought the home for $11m from stockbroker Angus Aitken and his wife Sarah in June 2020. It was bought after leaving the Vaucluse home she’d shared with ex-husband Lee Henderson, whom she split from in 2018 after 18 years together.

Jackie O recently sold her former Woollahra home.

Henderson will be living at Clovelly, where she bought a 1960s home for $13.25m at March auction through PPD agent Alexander Phillips.

Henderson also revealed in the podcast what it was like being a self-made female millionaire.

“I do sometimes get embarrassed to talk about money. I hate showing off wealth. I’ve always been like that … I want a nice bag, car and house, but I don’t want to flaunt it,” Henderson said.

“But [at the same time] I shouldn’t be embarrassed about it, so I am trying to take more ownership of that.

“As a female, when you’re single, it’s quite scary to earn a lot of money, because a lot of men can be intimidated by that … And so your instinct is to downplay it for that reason.”

Henderson attended the onsite oceanfront auction for her Clovelly home with her daughter Kitty and financial adviser David O’Callaghan.

“I was really proud of myself that day, because I had my daughter with me, and I am a single mum now and it was nice to be able to show her we can have financial independence,” she said.

She reportedly intends pursuing the approved plans for a concrete and steel home for her, Kitty and her pampered cavoodle Sadie.

Henderson remains one of the highest paid media stars in the country. She and co-host Kyle Sandilands signed a contract with ARN in 2019 worth a rumoured $7-8 million per year each until at least the end of 2024.
