A MUM has revealed the "best family-friendly campsite" in the UK which has a stunning beach and waterfall trails. Low Wray Campsite, owned by the National Trust, is found right on Lake Windemere.

A MUM has revealed the "best family-friendly campsite" in the UK which has a stunning beach and waterfall trails.

Families can choose from standard tent pitches either on the lake or in the forest, or upgrade to a safari tent or camping pod.

There are also campervan pitches and for a fancier stay, there are two suspended tree tents so you can sleep in the the sky.

Also on site is a shop, shower and toilet blocks and laundry facilities.

And there is loads to do while there, such as go swimming in the lake, which has a tiny beach, or go on hikes via waterfall trails.

The National Trust website says: "Leave the car behind for a few days and head out on bikes or on foot along the lakeshore to Claife Viewing Station, or through scenic views to Beatrix Potter's garden at Hill Top, or Allan Bank at Grasmere."

Mum Becky raved about the place, which she visited with her family and friends.

She said on her TikTok account: "This is the perfect campsite to go to with kids this summer.

"It's so cute - it's got a little walkway when you first get there and a main areas which has got a shop and benches and area where you can play.

"It's on Lake Windermere so you can go out and play in the lake - we were out there every day with the kids, they absolutely loved it."

She also raved about the nearby waterfall walks nearby in Ambleside, which also has restaurants, although said they took their own camping stoves and even ordered from the onsite pizza bar.

Her followers were just as impressed.

One wrote: "Consider me influenced. Definitely a campsite we’d love to visit."

Another commented: "This looks lovely! Defo putting on the to do list."

Becky replied saying they would "definitely be going back".

Prices start from as little as £36 a night for tents, which works out to £12pp a night.
